Walter Dewey Murch, 88, passed away peacefully surrounded by family July 16, 2019 at Valley View Home, in Glasgow, Montana
Walt was born on June 18, 1931 to Dewey and Beatrice (Zeiger) Murch, the oldest of five. Walt graduated from Nashua High School. Walt served in the Army at the end of the Korean War from 1953 – 1955 where he was an Army Air Section Aircraft Mechanic. He lived in Nashua, Montana all of his life: where he met his wife Darlene “Toots” and they were married for 64 years. They raised four children, Dave (Deby) Murch, Connie (Red) Whitten, Lori (Darryl) Kolstad, and Peggy (Will) Lauckner. Walt was proud of his family and loved when they all came visit.
Walt and Toots enjoyed camping, travel, family dinners, crafts and watching their kids, grandkids and great-grandkids. Walt was very proud of his family and would smile so big when he spoke of them. He loved to talk about his grandkids. Walt enjoyed his daily drives. Walt always greeted people with a smile and his favorite phrase “enjoy life while you are young”. He always told everyone enjoy your kids. His love showed through to everyone he came across in his smile and laughter.
Walt is survived by his wife, Toots; three of his four kids and their spouses; fourteen grandkids and twenty-four great-grand kids. Walt is preceded in death by daughter, Connie Whitten; son in-law, Red Whitten and grandson Nick Kolstad.
Services for Walt Murch will be 1:00 p.m., Saturday July 20, 2019 at Peggy Lauckner’s yard at 1402 Milk River Road in Nashua, Montana. Everyone is welcome to come and celebrate Walt’s life.
