Vivian Yellow Hawk Lindahl

April 11, 1932 — September 29, 2020

Vivian Yellow Hawk Lindahl, age 88, of Poplar, Montana went to be with our Creator on September 29, 2020 at the Roosevelt Medical Center in Culbertson, Mt.

Vivian was born on April 11, 1932 in Poplar, Mt to John Jack Yellow Hawk and Adele Azure. She attended school in Poplar and boarding school, of which she rarely spoke. She married Norman Lindahl, who helped her raise her 3 sons, William John Baker, Vaughn Dix Baker, and Lorne Baker. She worked as a housekeeper. She volunteered as an election judge, and she was a Senior Companion for 14 years.

Vivian loved to travel. There were many times she would leave without telling anyone where she was going and always came home with a good story. She loved to attend powwows where she would camp and watch her son dance. During the day you could find her at home watching Days of Our Lives or at the senior center visiting friends. In the evenings you could always find her sitting in her favorite spot at the bingo hall. She loved to spend time with her grandkids and great grandkids.

She is preceded in death by her parents, John Jack Yellow Hawk and Adele Azure; her son, Lorne (age 3); her brothers, Elmer Yellow Hawk and Scobey Yellow Hawk; her sisters, Wanda Iron Leggings Kirk, Margaret Yellow Hawk, Elma Yellow Hawk and Pearl Nation. She is survived by her sons, William John Baker, Vaughn Dix Baker and adopted son Greg White; her sister, Faye McGrath and her many nieces and nephews.  She is also survived and celebrated by her many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Vivian was cremated and the family held a private ceremony. They are planning her Celebration of Life and one year memorial in September 2021.  Details to be updated by the family.
