Terry Dean Thompson, 77, of Glasgow, Montana went to be with Jesus and his wife Sandra on January 10, 2025.
Terry was born in Crosby, North Dakota on June 15, 1947 to Douglas E. and Maxine (McKay) Thompson. The family moved to Tacoma Washington when Terry was twelve years old. He graduated from Franklin Pierce High School in Tacoma, Washington. He joined the Army in 1965 at 18 years old and was soon deployed for the Vietnam War. He was an excellent marksman.
In 1986 Terry married Sandra Porter and they celebrated 31 years together before she passed away in 2017.
Terry was so proud to be a Vietnam Vet. He displayed it proudly through his home, vehicles and even attire.
Terry continued his career in the government and worked for GSA in Fort Lewis Washington, retiring when he and Sandra, daughter and grandkids moved to Montana.
Terry and Sandra were avid travel and traveled all over this great country that he loved so much. . He loved to fire-up the motorhome, load up the wife and grandkids and travel, going on adventures. He loved wood working and mechanics, as he always had to keep his hands busy. He was always smiling and was the biggest Jokester. He is remembered as the best Papa in the world with there never being a dull moment when he was around.
Terry accomplished so much in his long amazing life, he was so proud to be husband, dad, brother, and papa. His family was everything to him and he left an amazing legacy behind that will never be forgotten.
Terry is survived by his sister, Judy Thompson; daughter, Tamara Henning; son, Douglas Thompson; granddaughter, Angel (Blake) Larson; grandson, Brett Tibbitts; great-grandchildren: Terrek, Kiyler, Rylin, Autumn, Bentley, Isabella, Killian, Tyler and Annabelle.
Preceding him in death are his parents, beloved wife Sandra, grandson Christian and brother, David Allen Thompson.
Graveside services are planned for 1:00 p.m., Thursday, January 16, 2025 at Highland Cemetery where he will be laid to rest by Sandra. Online condolences may be left for the family at bellmortuarymontana.com.
