Marvin Pischel passed away at FMDH in Glasgow Montana from cancer on Sunday June 21, 2026, into the arms of his eternal Father. Marvin was born October 5, 1940, in Glasgow Montana, the third child of Rudy and Lena Pischel.

Marvin attended schools in Fort Peck, Glasgow, and Nashua, graduating from Nashua High School in 1958. Immediately following graduation, he joined the Navy and was honorably discharged in 1963. He attended AG Aviation Academy in Minden-Reno, Nevada. He successfully earned his commercial/instrument rating/crop sprayer pilot’s license in 1969. Marvin returned to higher education later in life earning his bachelor’s degree from Northern Montana College in Havre Montana in 1986.

Marvin worked for Fossum Ready Mix for many years as a backhoe/loader operator. It was said by one MDU employee that he trusted Marvin to scratch his back with a backhoe bucket. Marvin also worked at the Bentonite Plant as well as Pre-Gondola in the Fort Peck area. He worked for DIS (Dealer Information Systems) of Bellingham Washington, as an installer and trainer for computer systems in Ag dealerships. Marvin also worked for Montana State Job Service in Glasgow Montana. As a part timer, Marvin enjoyed driving semis for Zerbe Bros. in Glasgow Montana.

In September 1972, Marvin and Linda eloped and were married in Helena Montana, beginning a beautiful life together. The following year on June 13, 1973, Marvin celebrated his proudest moment when he became a father and welcomed his life long best friend, Shane, into the world. As Shane grew, Marvin found immense joy in following his athletic pursuits always cheering him on in the stands in Baseball, Basketball, and Football.

A remarkably talented and meticulous individual, Marvin took immense pride in everything he crafted and pursued. He was a man of many passions, finding fulfillment in cooking, gardening, wine making, wood working, fishing, and hunting. His patience and attention to detail, truly shone through in his love for building and flying balsa wood-framed model airplanes.

He was proceeded in death by his parents and two brothers Elmer and Gordon. Survivors include his wife of 54 plus years; son, Shane Pischel of Winfield, Kansas; nieces Brittany (Daniel Morrell) Lane and their son Blane, Shondel (Gary) Busby and their daughters Kaydance and Doclynn, Sahmahrah (Kerry) Dangerfield and their daughters CeCe and Bentlee, Katie Lane (Kether) Gati and their daughter Zoe of Wellington, New Zealand; nephew Brian (Carolyn) Lane and their sons Henri and Theo of Vienna, Virginia; brother-in-law Jeff (Mary) Lane of Fairfield, Pennsylvania; sister-in-law Robin (Jay) Johannsen and their sons Jace and Zach of North Shelby, Montana, and Kelly (George) Gray of Billings, Montana.
