Marvin Gardner

December 27, 1940 — April 23, 2017

Marvin Lee Gardner, passed away Sunday, April 23, 2017 at the age of 76 in Glasgow, Montana. He was born in Scobey, Montana on December 27, 1940 to Henry Gardner and Glenda (Fossum) Gardner.

He went to school in Glasgow graduating in 1959. In March of 1962 he opened Marv’s Conoco and on November 4, 1962 he married Sandi Desonia. They had four sons and separated in 1997. In the fall of 1974, he rented his dads farm and in May of 1976 he closed the door of Marv’s Conoco and was fulltime at the farm. Marvin retired in 2010 for health reasons.

Marv was a lifetime member of the Elks and he was active in many community clubs including Jaycees, car and motorcycle clubs. He was a drag racer and helped to start the demolition derby’s. In his Conoco days, the family enjoyed the cabin at Fort Peck, fishing and boating. Marv loved everything about farming and ranching, especially sitting on his “Green Machines”. He was a hard worker and very proud of his farm.

After retirement Marv’s life was centered around the many friends and family that gathered in his garage.

Marv is preceded in death by his parents, his sister-in-law, Bev and brother-in-law, Bob.

Marv is survived by his ex-wife Sandi; four sons, Garret of Glasgow, Dallas (Bridgett) of Billings, Corey (Jodi) of Battle Creek, MI, Shane (Char) of Glasgow; one bro, Gary of Glasgow; sister, Vi Graham of Renton, WA; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Marv requested that cremation take place and no service be held.
