Martha Marie “Trixie” Lawrence Floyd, age 90, of Opheim, Montana

November 20, 1935 – March 6, 2026

Trixie was born November 20, 1935, in Opheim, Montana to Art and Adeline Lawrence.

When Trixie got to school age she attended country school, in junior high she attended school in Glentana, Montana and then Opheim for her high school years, where she gained lifelong friendships. She always loved to talk about her school days, how she rode her horse to school and back. When she arrived home chores were waiting, milking cows and taking care of her animals were her favorites.

While she was in school, she met the love of her life Robert Floyd. They were united in marriage in the middle of a blizzard on December 1, 1955. To that marriage four children were born: Teresa (Raymond) Rolfson, Susan (Gary) Landers, Bruce (Samantha) Floyd, and Kathy (Troy) Jones. She has seven grandkids and twelve great-grandkids. She was always bragging about how great they all were.

Every year Trixie and Robert planted a huge garden, they harvested the garden and Trixie started canning vegetables. Potatoes were always a big crop, and the root cellar was full of sprouts every year. They also had chickens which they butchered and froze for later meals.

Trixie was known for her great cooking and baking. She faithfully baked every week. At branding time or when just working the livestock, they had no problem getting help, they all knew that they were going to get a great meal with homemade pies and fresh buns. Holidays were always a great time. There was never a shortage of food or fresh baked goodies.

She was an active member of the First Lutheran Church until she moved to the Broadus Manor in 2013, which she called home until her passing. She always had good things to say about her care and the staff at the Manor.

Trixie was preceded in death by her parents Art and Adeline, her husband Robert, her son Robert Bruce Jr., and her daughter Kathy Jo Floyd (Jones), and brothers Art and Bill Larence.

In lieu of flowers a memorial may be made to the Powder River Manor, or an organization of your choice. Trixie also requested that there be no services.
