With heavy hearts we announce the passing of Maggie Cheryl LongTree, born August 16, 1953, in Poplar, Montana, to Esther Melbourne and John LongTree Jr. She peacefully passed on June 27, 2026, at Frances Mahon Deaconess Hospital in Glasgow Montana, surrounded by love.

Maggie’s life was marked by quiet strength, creativity, and a deep devotion to family and friends. After spending her early years at the Montana State Children’s School in Twin Bridges until 1971, she made her home in Glasgow where she raised her children, Jennifer and Cheyenne Limberhand. Maggie found joy in simple pleasures such as handcrafting beautiful star quilts that warmed both beds and hearts, laughing over bingo nights, and gathering at Oasis with the many friends she cherished. Her greatest delight was time with family: sharing stories, hugs, and laughter with grandchildren and great‑grandchildren who brought light to her days.

Maggie is survived by her son, Cheyenne Limberhand; brother, Gordon LongTree; sister, Myra LongTree; special cousin Delilah Martin; son-in-law Frank Vandall; nieces: Denelda Roll (Travis), Sara LongTree, Lucie LongTree, Gracie Ackerman (Wilbert), Nancy Jackson‑Mckeen; nephew, Robert Jackson; grandchildren: Tessa Youngman, Cody Youngman Jr., Ashley Limberhand (Eric), Samantha Youngman (Zane), Jayson LongTree, Chassidy LongTree, Harper Roll, Kylen Roll, Deltin Baker, Samuel Farrell, Dakota Farrell, Lanika Mckeen and Cimeron Mckeen Jr; great‑grandchildren: Jorden Bruce, Jayden Bruce, Ahnaleigh Bruce, Joe Wilcoxin Jr., Cambell Youngman, Dreamer Medicine Elk, Hope Turner, Grace Turner and Rykker Fletcher; special friends Jim and Bridgette Lapke and numerous other cousins, great‑nieces, and great‑nephews. Her family will carry forward the warmth, strength, and gentle humor she always showed.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Esther Melbourne, father John LongTree Jr, daughter, Jennifer Limberhand; brothers: Alan and Mark LongTree; sisters: Eugenia Jackson‑Warclub and Linda Rae; life partner Tony Jones; and nephew Dub LongTree.

Friends and family are invited to honor Maggie’s memory: viewing on July 8, 2026 from 6-8 p.m. at Bell Mortuary, and funeral service at 11:00 a.m., July 9, 2026, at Bell Mortuary. Burial will follow at Highland Cemetery, and a reception, at the Cottonwood Inn, to celebrate her life.
