Linda Lou (Dull) Olinger, 84, of Saco, Montana passed away with family by her side on May 5, 2026.
Linda was born to Charles and Ruth Dull on October 3, 1941, in Glasgow, Montana. She grew up on the family ranch in Saco, Montana. From an early age, Linda loved music, she played piano at many barn dances in the Saco Community until 4:00 a.m. with her band called the Stardusters and then would be up bright and early the next morning playing the organ for Sunday church services. Upon graduating from Saco High School in 1959, she attended the University of Montana Missoula on a full-ride scholarship by earning a perfect score for her performance of Rachmaninoff’s Piano Concerto No. 2.
In July of 1961, Linda married Gordon Olinger at the First Lutheran Church in Glasgow, Montana and moved to Havre with Gordon, where he was attending college. After graduation they moved to Salt Lake City, Utah for a short time and then back to Billings, Montana. Accepting an overseas job offer they went to Europe for eight years where Linda worked for the US Army. Upon returning to the United States in 1976, Linda and Gordon settled in Arizona, then Oregon and Texas and finally back in Montana in 1992. Lind a worked for the US Air Force at Malmstrom Air Base in Great Falls and at the Great Falls Tribune, where she typed much of the daily paper at a world-class speed of 127 words-per-minute, error free. In 2000, Linda and Gordon both retired and returned to live in Linda’s childhood home in Saco. The became “Snow Birds” enjoying their winters in southern Nevada. Linda enjoyed the casinos and the sun but always loved coming back home to her roots in Saco for the summer months.
Linda is preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Ruth and her brothers, Tony and Chuck.
Surviving Linda are her husband, Gordon; sons: Shane (Barbi) Olinger of Sandy, Oregon and Michael Olinger of Aurora, Colorado; nephew, Paul (Patty) Dull; niece Kirsten Sisko and sister-in-law, Ronda Dull.
A graveside service is planned for 2:00 p.m., Monday, June 22, 2026 at Grandview Cemetery with Pastor Doris Tolefson officiating, followed by a reception at the IOOF Hall in Saco. Online condolences may be left for the family at bellmortuarymt.com.
