Ida Mae Black Dog-Bear, 60, passed away on Christmas Day, 2016 in Culbertson, Montana at Roosevelt Medical Center.
Ida was born August 7, 1956 in Garrison, North Dakota to the late Rozelda Black Dog and Duane Bear. She attended school in Brockton, Montana and later went on to Albuquerque, New Mexico where she graduated high school at the Southwestern Indian Polytechnic Institute. Ida worked various jobs: including working for the Fort Peck Tribes to seismic graphing with two of her brothers.
Ida was known to be a friendly, outgoing, free spirited lady and very generous person, who was always there for others. She made friends everywhere she went.
Ida enjoyed listening to music, watching movies, gardening, and spending time with her five grandchildren.
Ida is survived by three children, Thena Epps of Froid, Montana, Reannon (Taylor) Black Dog of Fort Kipp, Montana and Roger Running Bear Jr. of Fort Kipp, Montana; her wonderful grandchildren that she loved dearly, Gabriel Harlan, Breanna & Matiah Epps, Laney Engelke, Devyn, Daija & Demya Lizotte, Rosslyn, Royal & Roman Russell, Keenan & Draven Green and many others; two brothers, Duane (Margaret) Green and family of Sioux Falls, South Dakota and Brian Black Dog of Fargo, North Dakota; two sisters, Dani Green of Fort Kipp, Montana and Shannin Loans Arrow of Bismarck, North Dakota; an aunt, Loretta Bearcub; and many more aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Ida was preceded in death by her parents; 26 year companion, Roger L. Running Bear Sr.; a young son, Cameron Black Dog; a brother, Albert F. Loans Arrow Jr. and many others.
A Visitation for Ida will be held at her house in Fort Kipp (5833 3 rd St.) at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 5th, 2016. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 6 th , 2016, at the James Black Dog Center in Fort Kipp. Bell Mortuary of Glasgow is assisting the family with arrangements.
