Elouise W. Geiser, age 82, passed away at her home in Stanley, ND on May 17, 2025.
Elouise was born on April 28, 1943, in Ft. Belknap, Montana, to Elizabeth Chandler (Doney) and David Hawley. She carried with her the strength and heart of her roots throughout her life.
Elouise was a devoted mother, wife, and grandmother. She first welcomed a son, Adrian "Les" Chandler. She later married Theodore "Butch" Grandchamp Sr, with whom she had another son, Theodore "Ted" Grandchamp. Though their paths eventually parted, she later found lasting partnership with Larry Geiser. They were married in 1975 and together built a loving home. In 1982, Elouise and Larry adopted their daughter, Robyn, filling their home with even more love.
She dedicated 31 years of service to the FSA offices and retired in 1996. Elouise was well known for her incredible talent in making star quilts—all hand-stitched, each one absolutely stunning and gorgeous. Her cooking and baking were equally memorable, always made with love and sure to bring everyone to the table.
Known for her warmth, resilience, and creativity, Elouise’s presence brought comfort to those around her. Her legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
Elouise is survived by her children: son Ted Grandchamp and daughter Robyn (Byron) Frueh; grandchildren: Trevor Grandchamp, Jonika Grandchamp, Lance Grandchamp, Byron “Vaughn” Frueh, and Ellie Frueh; and great-grandchildren: Myalya, Kadence, Trake, Kenzie, Larry, Guinevere, and Josette.
She is also survived by her siblings: sisters: Sharon Hawley, Kristal Hawley-Fox, and Nadine Jackson; and brothers: Al “Baka” Chandler, Francis “Cisco” Hawley, and Vincent “Poncho” Hawley.
Elouise was preceded in death by her husband Larry Geiser; son Adrian Chandler; grandson Harley Frueh; her mother Elizabeth Doney and father David Hawley; sisters Aurelia Spencer, Camilla Doney, Coralee Turnsplenty, Kathleen Hawley, Deanna Hawley, Sylvia Sjogren, Gloria Jean Hawley, and Kathie Hawley; and brothers Percy Plummage, David “Buzzy” Hawley, Ronald Hawley, Glenn Hawley, and Marshall Hawley.
Family will receives friends and a Rosary will be prayed starting at 6:30 p.m., Monday, May 26, 2025 at Bell Mortuary. A funeral mass will held 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, May 27, 2025 at St. Raphael’s Catholic Church, burial will follow in Highland Cemetery.
