Cheryl Kay Melikian 66 Of Apache Junction Arizona Formerly Of Glasgow Montana

April 8, 1957 — May 15, 2023

Cheryl Kay (Dahl) Melikian, 66, of Apache Junction, Arizona passed away peacefully at her home with her loving husband, George, by her side. Cheryl was born on April 8, 1957, in Lisbon, North Dakota to Norman and Fay Dahl. She was the second eldest of five children. Cheryl was her mom’s greatest help and right hand with her younger three siblings in helping care for them.

A change in jobs for her father, Norman, resulted in the family moving to Glasgow in 1964. Cheryl attended Glasgow schools, graduating in May of 1975. In school Cheryl got along with everyone and included everybody in all activities, making all feel welcome. She had a beautiful smile, smart wit, and a contagious laugh. After high school, Cheryl worked at the Glasgow Courier, along with her Dad Norm, as a typist, and a very fast one at that!

On June 12, 1976, Cheryl married the love of her life, George Melikian. From this union came their three children: Joshua, Matthew, and Kathryn, and she was blessed with two grandchildren, Jenna and Chase, whom she loved all so dearly.

After numerous years living in Glasgow Cheryl and George moved to Great Falls where Cheryl worked at the Great Falls Tribune for many years, this time in sales working with the major accounts, which she thoroughly enjoyed. From Great Falls, Cheryl and George relocated to Spokane, Washington where Cheryl went to school and became a medical transcriptionist, specializing in Pathology. In 2009 Cheryl and George decided they belonged in the warm and sun and relocated to Apache Junction, Arizona, where Cheryl typed pathology transcription for Sonora Quest. She did this until her retirement in April of 2022. She enjoyed Arizona very much, but she always enjoyed spending time with her family in Montana and Spokane.

Cheryl had many hobbies which included: sewing, ceramics, Chalk Couture art, golfing, playing her luck at a casino machine, and traveling, but time enjoying family and friends was her favorite.

Cheryl is preceded in death by her father, Norman Dahl, mother-in-law, and father-in-law, Elizabeth and Hamo Melikian, and nephew Jason Dahl.

Survivors include her husband George, Apache Junction, Arizona; sons Josh and Matt Melikian, Great Falls, Montana; daughter Katie (Chris) Barnfather of  Spokane, Washington; granddaughter, Jenna Melikian, Great Falls, Montana; grandson, Chase Barnfather, Spokane Washington; mother Fay Dahl; brothers ,Keith Dahl,  and Duane “Snuff” (Jody) Dahl; sisters Linda (Dennis) Gay and sister Candy Dahl; sisters-in-law Rosevita Walls (Rene’), Ruth Melikian and Susan (Keith) Fuhrman; brother-in-law Jim Melikian, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Cheryl was a very loving, kind, and thoughtful wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, auntie, cousin, and friend. We will all miss her kind heart, beautiful smile, vivacious laugh, and quick wit. We are comforted in knowing she is with loved ones and we will see her again one day!
