Allen J.
Olivera
June 2, 1949 – April 29, 2026
Allen Joseph Olivera was born June 2, 1949 in San Jose, California and passed away at home in Richland, Montana on April 29, 2026, with his faithful dog Kaiser by his side.
Allen loved the outdoors and spent his life appreciating and conserving nature. He worked for the East Bay Regional Park District in California for over 30 years, starting as a seasonal laborer and eventually managing some of the largest lake parks in Northern California. In 2008, he retired and moved to Montana. Many locals were skeptical that the “new guy from California” would make it through his first winter, but Al made his home in Valley County and never looked back. Over the years, he became well known for gifting people delicious baked goods and helping out his neighbors whenever needed. Allen’s retirement years were spent hunting with his dogs and traveling. He also enjoyed reading fantasy novels, watching movies, and working on projects around his property. Al’s grandkids could always count on him to send the best gifts and his daughters called him often for advice about home repairs, cars, and life in general.
Allen is preceded in death by his parents, Alexander and Evanna Olivera, and Aunt Millie Olivera. Allen is survived by his daughters Aimée Olivera Sanchez (Nathan) and Virginia Olivera, his grandchildren Aiden Joseph Sanchez, Mara Lynn Sanchez, and Alexa Rae Manley, his sister Sandy Pradels (James), and Aunt Ellie Miller.
A celebration of life will be held in Glasgow at a later date. Our family requests donations to Pheasants Forever in lieu of flowers. https://www.pheasantsforever.org/
